Marsa Alam

Establishment resort Marsa Alam is another in a series of Egyptian stories and real basis for the transformation of the original fishing village to tourist destination. That’s right – as in the case such as Hurghada and Sharm El Sheikh later, and there are probably local residents decided – in the moments when the fish were not taken and not taken – to build a better network of a few hotels and a tourist attraction as a hang nail on :-). It was obviously an attempt at humor, even if it was – it turned out that it really paid off.

Resort Marsa Alam is situated approximately 200 km south of the Red Sea coast from Hurghada. Size is certainly not yet equal to his designs – the type built by government departments was sure to just appointed Sharm El Sheikh – but still has potential for success. It gained particular building an international airport, so dispensing with the tedious bus ride from Hurghada.

Tranquility, luxury and beautiful landscapes in Marsa Alam

Distance from the busy center, new hotel and nice nature are, however, attributes that some tourists from their holidays directly require (and damaged corals it certainly does not require one) and here they get them as much as possible: luxury hotels, undisturbed peace and the splendid diving locations including the chance to snorkel with dolphins and sharks, water sports or explore the desert terrain of the cab car, four-wheelers out of the saddle or on the humps of camels :-).

Resort of Marsa Alam will take a long time, get as traffic concerns at the level of its competitors, the quality of services but lag today.

Secrets of the Pyramids

Another barge sinks in Nile (Egypt) – oil spill 2

Less than two weeks after a river boat sank and spilled oil into Egypt’s Nile River, a second barge has sank near the same spot close to Aswan in southern Egypt, the Egyptian official MENA news agency reported.

Egypt goes after plastic bags

An Egyptian environmental organization has launched a campaign against the country’s largest supermarket chain for the end of plastic bags along the Red Sea. The Hurghada Environmental Protection and Conservation Agency, which works mainly on environmental issues in the Red Sea, believes the use of plastic bags can be greatly curtailed in Egypt in an effort to promote environmental sustainability and a greener country.

Egypt – Fuel spill fouls Nile River

A spill of around 100 tons of diesel into the Nile River has forced Egyptian authorities to shut down four water purification stations as a precaution to prevent contamination. The spill resulted from the partial sinking of a barge owned by the state’s Nile Co. for River Transportation that was docking in the city of Aswan, 650 miles south of Cairo, because of low water levels Saturday. It further degrades an Nile River basin already damaged by overuse, pollution and drought.
